ABOUT STAGES OF LIFE DESIGN

I’m Amanda Hatcher, a Certified Home Stager® and Design Consultant

I'm thrilled to have a business that allows me to work every day, doing what I love.

I’ve loved design for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent hours playing house, drawing floor plans, and arranging dollhouses. Creating beautiful, welcoming spaces has always felt natural to me — even then, I knew I wanted to work with homes in some way.
I was also raised in homes that were lovingly cared for and thoughtfully designed. My family moved fairly often, and while those changes were sometimes difficult, they taught me early on how deeply our surroundings can affect the way we feel. I learned how important it is to create a sense of comfort, stability, and belonging — no matter what season of life we are in.
At 18, I moved into my first home on my own, and since then, life has taken me through many transitions. I’ve been married and lived in several homes, experienced divorce, and navigated many of life’s ups and downs. Through it all, I’ve learned that change is something we all face, and adapting to it with support and compassion can make all the difference. Friends and family often asked me to help with their homes, moving furniture, rearranging belongings, and rehanging pictures. That was when I first realized there could be a business idea in this, and it eventually led me to creating my business.

Building a Life Through Change and Experience

In 2010, I finally began turning that lifelong passion into reality by starting my business. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of helping others through their own transitions while also raising my children and building a life filled with learning, growth, and resilience. Along the way, I spent nearly 15 wonderful years with my beloved dog Daisy, who was part of every chapter.

I’ve always believed in continuing to challenge myself and embrace new experiences. I learned to ride a motorcycle, and I bought a motorcycle and learned to ride, bought a sailboat on my own, and found people to teach me how to sail. I love spending time camping, biking, being near the water, and enjoying nature. These experiences have reminded me that growth often begins just outside our comfort zone.

Over the years, clients have shared their personal stories with me during our appointments, and I began to realize that the life experiences I once saw simply as my own journey were actually helping me connect more deeply with others. That realization inspired me to return to school and become a certified life coach, so I could better support people not only through changes in their homes, but through changes in life itself.

Today, my goal is to create more than just beautiful spaces. I want my clients to feel understood, supported, and hopeful about what comes next. I truly look forward to meeting each person I work with and helping guide them through whatever transition they may be facing — with compassion, creativity, and care.
